Reece is my 'Film&TV' category editor. He's in that position because I requested him to take the job on for me.

He is young, but he is knowledgeable as a Film Studies graduate and I trust his opinion. If you submit work which covers Film&TV, he will be your editor.

Even so, Reece actually did request a second opinion on your last submission - and I agreed with his assessment. It needed work. You're writing tends to be dense and convoluted, but in this case, that wasn't the only problem.

The reality of this situation is, Anh, that I have needed to do a lot of editing on every one of the pieces of work you submitted to Counter Arts (as far as I can recollect). I have done that for you out of the kindness of my heart. Donating my time to helping you make your work at least be a little more accessible. I do not expect, or require, Reece to do that, it's entirely his own choice and he does help writers out when he sees worth in their work. In this case, we conferred and decided to send it back with notes and ask you to do some more work on it for yourself. Which is perfectly reasonable. We were both willing to take a second look if you resubmitted.

I haven't told Reece about these messages, because he would be offended, regardless of you saying "No offense". Honestly, I was rather offended myself!

Yes, I've worked with you a few times.( I don't think I would consider you a 'veteran' of Counter Arts though). If you were to submit any more essays to us, I would work with you again - UNLESS the piece was for 'Film&TV'. Reece edits for that category. Full stop/Period. I cover *everything else*. That's my decision, it's your decision what you submit, or indeed IF you submit, to us.
