As Luke said above, celebrating Pride doesn't take anything away from celebrations for anything else - and Pride is mainly celebrated by people in the LGBTQIA community who they themselves come together to organise events etc.

Also, Pride is an international thing, one of the reasons it grew to encompass a whole month is that it is celebrated on different dates around the world - and even within the US.

If you want to see more celebration of veterans, campaign for it, get together and organise it with others.

Pride was fought for and hard won. So do that for your group instead of complaining about Pride. I'm sure plenty of people supporting Pride would support your events too.

What isn't going to get you anywhere is all this negativity about something very important to many other people.

So quit whining about this and go do something positive for veterans instead.

Hell, write about your cause (without belittling someone else's) and I'll publish it here too if you like! Despite my own pacifistic tendencies I also happen to think that the way veterans are treated is appalling. I truly feel for the numbers who end up homeless, suffer mental health issues and drug problems, losing family and friends in the process. It's heartbreaking to see the suicide rates.

Will a month long party with lots of parades help them at all?

Just please stop putting this down to left wing politics, you were no better off under the right; and stop having a go at people for celebrating something different. Thank you.
