For what it's worth, not that my opinion should be worth anything.... I think that words are just words, all and any of them, which a poet can then choose or not depending upon their subject, their style and the effect they wish to produce at any given time.

I enjoy Ginsberg, as I enjoy Coleridge - drug addled miscreants both! - and a reader has the choice, always, to confine themselves to Hardy (also a wonderful writer) if that's their preference, but that is their choice and should not be used as criticism against a poet.
