Charles, I think you would get on well with my father. He's a Brit and he's not a photographer, but he IS heavily into locomotives. Especially the steam driven variety. He would have loved to be along on the visit you photographed and showed us in the first part of this series!
By association, sponge that I am, train knowledge is something else I have carried from childhood years of been taken places that didn't interest me. No disrespect, it's just not my bag you know?
So I was intrigued when I read that wiki entry above and realised that I easily understood 'marshalling' and 'shunting', but 'classification yard' alone might well have stumped me.
Also, that observation tower....grief my stomach is in my mouth just flipping past those pictures!
