Exactly. Though Starmer is just at the finishing end of a drift towards the dividing line which others set in motion.
It's rather like in the US actually. More of a push towards a homogenous 'Centrist' mass. Where admittedly there will be more agreement and government will run more smoothly. But what about the true ideals of the original Labour party? The socialist, labour union supporting, grassroots 'for the people' origins have been marginalised and cast off with Jeremy Corbyn - and over there, Bernie.
Class divisions are being remarked, with bold lines, with government looking after the 'middle' class groupings. The toffs and big money earners aren't concerned, because they just do what the hell they want anyway.
So the 'working class' and unemployed underclass get no money, no status and no say in government. Welcome back to those Victorian values some people harp on endlessly about.
Don't be fooled by greater numbers of women in parliament and a British-Asian PM. As I'm sure you know, under Rishi's brown skin is a very wealthy man - with Conservative values let's not forget!
