I'm a big fan of the rewilding movement myself. As you say, I just hope it's not too little too late. I just don't understand the sometimes vehement objections to rewilding projects - and worse, those who actively seek to undo the progress made with hunting, poaching and trapping. I do wonder if the re-education needed is such a massive endeavour that it's doomed to failure.
