Hi Jan, thanks first of all for putting my name in the company of Jessica and Zulie. Secondly, I write book reviews as you know, and I have had boosts for some of those reviews. One of which contains details of the area where I grew up. As do other pieces of writing I've published on Medium. Some members I'm fairly close with know my real name, as do Medium. Point being, I'm not completely disguised by my pen name. And as Linda has pointed out, one of the reasons I had for not using my real name was to keep some stories I've told somewhat concealed from certain members of my family, including my child - and even though the 'child' is 21 now, that still stands actually, they'd be devastated if they knew some things from my past and there's no going back and preventing them from happening, so I'm choosing to avoid that devastation while giving myself the outlet to write freely about whatever I like here.
HOWEVER I do completely see your point and I agree. While some kind of regulatory exceptions which allowed me to continue writing book reviews would be welcomed, I would genuinely understand if anonymised accounts were no longer allowed to publish reviews, or if their reviews were no longer accepted for boosting. It's a genuinely good point and I think something should be done about it.
