Hi Toni, I'm going to answer the message you sent here, because the information is pertaining to this story and might also be useful to others too. (Also, it's awkward to leave a longer message).

I do think this is a good story, but I'm afraid I won't be able to nominate it for boosting as you requested - at least not right now.

Technically I was invited to be part of the boost nomination pilot as the owner of Counter Arts, and asked to specialise in nominating Culture pieces. Now, I can veer outside of that category now and again, but I also have a limit to the number of nominations I can submit each month and a lot of pieces of writing to choose from. (We nominators submit to Medium curation staff, they are the ones with the final decision as to which work receives a boost).

Add to this the fact that, while fiction absolutely can be boosted, we have been told that anything serialised is less likely to be boosted (which applies to both fiction and nonfiction alike).

Now, all this being said, if in the next couple of months I find myself with a nomination 'spare' I may just try this story for you, but I do have a list of 'possibilities'.

I do also have a couple of 'featured' slots at the top of the publications main page, which I rotate stories and poems I think are particularly good into once a week. These aren't necessarily published within that week either - I have another list for that.

Your story is doing very well even without a boost, considering it was only published a couple of days ago, I'm really pleased it's so successful! - Sadie
