I agree, it's all so difficult now because as you say there is so much political weight put on this gender (expression) subject.

My almost 20 year old is at present identifying as non-binary if pushed, but has suffered a great deal of angst over the last few years trying to decide - and eventually said "I'm Just Me and clothes are just clothes. I'm done stressing about it, at least for now." (writing this with permission).
