I can’t whistle either! The closest I get is with your third method, I can produce a sort of sound that way — but whistle for my dogs? Not a chance.

Thanks for this, it’s quite diverting — and no I can’t quite wrap my head around all that scientific study into something like whistling. I suppose it is interesting to add to knowledge about how sound is produced though. Given my tendency towards yearly laryngitis, that does feed into an existing interest for me!
