I’m going to add some more thanks for writing this James.

I was aware that things weren’t as bright in the UK as we would be lead to believe, having read various reports myself (from the likes of Stonewall, which show that tolerance has actually fallen in the last couple of years), but it was very interesting to see those statistics for the various world regions.

I say ‘interesting’, truth be told I’m not sure if I’m more depressed, heart broken or angry.

As the mother of a non-binary teen in the rural north-west of England, I can certainly recognise the truth in Fred’s words — though as a similar ‘old hippy’ type to his parents, my child is also luckily on the receiving end of bucket loads of support and love from me. I just wish every LGBTQ+ child could say the same.
