It's shocking how little thought people are willing to put into assessing these claims isn't it. They're determined to be reactionary and grab hold of any ridiculous scrap of scandalous rumour they can use against people who they have zero interest in trying to actually understand.
Great writing as usual James.
Thanks for mentioning my piece, I think it's important the world keeps talking about all of this dreadful bigotry.
It's the teens who I really feel for, certain parts of America are just sliding happily back into the dark days where Lgbtq+ kids were/are more and more likely to feel isolated and afraid.
Britain and Europe too. The rise in popularity of extreme far right politics over recent years has been truly frightening.
Here in the UK, anti-trans feeling seems to be continually growing, unfortunately with the support of some Lgb groups. It's a crying shame, because once all the transgender people have been beaten, terrified and chased back into the shadows we know who's turn it will be next.
We had come such a long way, helping people out of the closet and into the sunlight, yet now everything positive feels like it's being undone.
