Lisa was definitely not your only competition Mia! I fell a couple of years before you - 1979 brought both 'Tim' and 'Mad Max'.....probably diametric opposites in terms of character, but I loved (to be fair, still love) them both.

As with you though, the negatives began to pile up rapidly alongside other films I enjoyed ('more 'Mad Max', 'The Year of Living Dangerously', 'The Bounty', ' Mrs Soffel' - I was never really a fan of the 'Lethal Weapon' ones). I think I can fairly safely say that by the time he made me cringe in 'Braveheart', I was well and truly out of love and utterly disgusted by his personal beliefs.

Such a pretty face, such a terrible mind. Only goes to prove what they say about books and their covers doesn't it.
