Great essay. I would hate Zoom teaching too. As you say the personal face to face interaction makes all the difference to a good learning experience.

(I used to teach adult education evening classes — I could only bear to tutor people who were actually interested in learning, wanted to and elected to be there! I loved it too, but that’s just one of many things that illness took from me).
