Oh good grief. This argument over obstetric terminology (and the shit show of a 'conversation' I tried to have about it with otherwise pretty bloody reasonable and forward thinking people) was actually the 'last straw' and finishing point for Facebook and myself. It was a bad break up.

I said then, as I will say again now, that in my opinion there is nothing wrong at all in simply using the word 'person' or 'patient'. All of this performance about 'the erasure of woman/motherhood' if we use inclusive terms is one of the many things currently giving Feminism a bad name.
