The Poet Inspired Me To Poetry.

Words —

Filling, spilling, spewing, choking;

Pretty, angry, ugly,

Full of love.

Inadequate, indecent, impotent,

Lewd and luscious,

Lilting, tripping,

From the vocal chords.

Shouted, stuttering,

Blistering, whispering,

Passions howled,

From the heart.

Begged and dragged,

Drunken and forsaken,

Forlorn and fiery,

From the soul.

Hope and freedom.

Piety and chastity.

Chased down

Endless dark alleyways,

Of sickening, blackening, joyful

‘Sin’.

Beating, rapid,

Tattooed alliteration,

Needle sharp assonance,

Powerful, poignant,

Like fine rain,

Sustenance,

To the depth of the lost and lonely

Self.
