So strange.

US society was born from (regrettable) European empire building, yet has developed into the country it is today which is unrecognisable in so many ways.

There are so many deeply rooted beliefs and customs held to with great conviction over there that I simply don't understand.

Unfortunately, due to the reversal of power dynamic between the USA and the UK, our society here is now very susceptible to soaking up all manner of influence from over there.

Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not blaming all of our ills on your country!

It's distressing though, to see how western society has started to slide backwards. Especially given the genuine improvements made in human rights of all kinds over the last few years, which are now beginning to be rolled back and reneged upon.

It's a truly terrifying exercise to imagine where that trajectory might take us all.
