I feel it is so important to be highlighting First Nations/Native concerns among discussions of racism, colonialism, human rights - so many topics.

I'm feeling my way into what is becoming a serious of essays on Native American/Canadian fiction, which has evolved from the novel 'Warrior Girl Unearthed' which I put onto my Book Club list for this year.

However, I'm so happy to see a couple of new writers arriving onto Counter Arts with work on this subject too.
