It's hard to watch society take steps backwards like it has over the last few years.

It's not all that long ago that we were campaigning to get organisations like Stonewall (the UK charitable organisation) to accept that transgender people needed to be included in their scope. All of the educational work that they do around diversity and acceptance is so important, but it took some time to get that T officially added onto the LGB in their official mission statement.

My point is that once that battle was won, it seemed we were gaining ground, but then people like the LGB Alliance really started making themselves known. It's like one step forward, two steps back - and all we want is for all people to be treated decently and have the same rights!
