The BBC has become well practiced in taking full-circle the art of the unbiased news report. It is so keen to not show favour that instead it shows disdain by not getting ‘involved’ at all. Makes me queasy.

The opinions and actions of the general public here in the UK has also taken steps backwards in issues of tolerance and acceptance in the last few years, similar to you have seen in the US. There has been increaing numbers of acts of aggression recorded (on varying levels, towards various groups of people), which sickens and terrifies me.
