The only thing with submitting older self-published pieces is that they won't show up on the main page of the publication, as it displays most recent date of publishing first. They should still got to the top of the dedicated 'Fiction' page, so long as fiction is one of the tags used, but even that isn't guaranteed if they've been around on Medium for some time.
