‘Unfathomable Depths’ (He Said That He Loved Me)

Better just paddle.........

He said that he loved me,

Just the way I am.

He wanted to see all of me,

Yet, when I showed him,

Opened up my depths and let him in,

To see vulnerability and reality,

Expecting him to dive,

Swim deep,

Explore,

Caress the deep trenches of

My psyche with reverence

And wonder…

I was Too Much for him.

Too deep.

Too dark.

Too intense.

Too fractured,

Damaged and desirous.

So with the life jacket of my love,

I pulled him back to the surface,

Let him bob around

In the shallow part of Me.

In the calm waters of assurance

And simplicity.

Yet, under this are still

Wild restless currents.

Dark lurking sea monsters,

My Passion and my Pain,

Ominous shadows,

Threatening to surge upwards,

Swallow him again.
