We have Anishinaabe cousins in Canada. I'm English, their mother was English, their father Anishinaabe. They live on a reserve in Ontario. Members of their family were sent to residential boarding schools. They sent us a book about that a few years back called 'The Butterfly Child'. I read the story to my child, who was about 8 at the time. Afterwards, he broke down sobbing and declared it the saddest thing he had ever heard.
