While I entirely agree that this little girl had a lucky escape, this is the part which made me feel both extremely sad and dreadfully angry.
Zoe's belief in a connection to her dad, who God was looking after, through attending this church school was what should have been seen front and centre. She needed that school right then, as an anchor to her father. Poor child. Thank goodness for the wonderful couple, community and school who have taken her in.
