You say yourself that’s you “don’t understand” and that’s glaringly obvious.
“Validate yourself” — this isn’t akin to whether people like your hairstyle or think that you’re ‘pretty’. That’s a whole new conversation regarding perception and social conditioning, tying into your comments on how people are indeed judged by their weight, fashion choices etc. This isn’t that conversation.
“Most people don’t care" is just problematic in and of itself. It’s a excuse that the ‘majority’ could have used throughout the entire history of inequality and in every fight for a ‘minority’ group to be recognized as having equal rights, or indeed human rights at all.
So many people just don’t care about other people, full stop(period). The fact that ‘most people’ don’t care about something doesn’t form anywhere close to an adequate justification as far as I’m concerned. Perhaps those who don’t care should broaden their minds and embrace wider empathy. Perhaps that would make them better human beings.
